Micanite-insulated band resistors
The standard design is a resistor coated with a chromium plate (ferritic stainless steel plate, diameter 0.5 mm). The resistors have a maximum recommended surface power of 4 W/cm² and a maximum recommended operating temperature of 450 ºC. The band resistor can be notched or holes can be made in it as needed.
The power of the resistor can also be divided into sections of different power around the circumference. In addition, the resistor can also be manufactured so that it covers only part of the circumference. All band and plate resistors can be electrically connected using a socket, screws (with or without a housing), and a wire or cable.
Ceramic insulated band resistors
A resistor made of ceramic blocks, with a body shell made of chrome plate. The maximum recommended surface power is 8 W/cm² and the maximum recommended temperature is 800 ºC. These resistors can also be made with holes or slots.
